Creativity

Another one from the archives – a long exposure on Church Street from last year when the Capital of Culture banners were up.
In other news, I was made redundant from my full time job on Tuesday so it looks like I’ll have more time to update the blog, maybe even full-time if I can put a good enough business case together, who knows?
Royal Insurance Building – North John Street, Liverpool

Reflection of the Royal Liver Building on North John Street. I’m posting these as these are the best shots I’ve been able to get – I can do better but never seem to get the right conditions on my way past. It’d help if the windows ever got cleaned.
Another Place – Crosby, Liverpool

The iron men at Crosby (more properly known as Another Place by Antony Gormley) – again, more fun with filters. Cracking sunset that day.
Bruce @ Crosby

The mile marker at Crosby beach, who I’ve been lead to believe is called Bruce. I had an ace day at Crosby, messing around with various filters.
Puddle Boy – Exchange Flags, Liverpool

I’ve already done this picture sort of before here – but I wanted to go back with my 50mm and get the whole blurred/sharp thing going on…this one’s for you Joe!
Port Of Liverpool – Pier Head, Liverpool

The newly cleaned Port Of Liverpool, taken from the newly opened section of waterfront. It’s been a long time coming and most of it is still not done, but you can see things coming together….hopefully it’ll be worth the wait (and the loss of the Pier Head during Capital of Culture) once everything is finished.
Flyposters will be prosecuted! – Bold Street, Liverpool

No mention anywhere of what happens to graffiti artists….no doubt they will be dealt with equally as sternly.
Four Lads Who Shook The World – Mathew Street, Liverpool

“Four Lads Who Shook The World” – a sculpture on Mathew Street by Arthur Dooley, a Liverpool artist. George, Paul and Ringo are in the Madonnas arms and John is represented as a cherub, just off camera to the right….more about Arthur Dooley here
Liverpool Waterfront

First experiment with grad filters….quite happy with how this came out. I’ll be happier when half the waterfront isn’t a construction site, mind.
Geisha Sticker

Sticker advertising local bar – this seemed to jump out at me so I went for the colour isolation.
Web of Light – Exchange Flags, Liverpool

Ai Weiwei sculpture for the Liverpool Biennial, Exchange Flags. I love this – such a creative use of the buildings at Exchange Flags, which are really impressive and amongst the best in Liverpool. They’ve stood unused for so long due to a legal wrangle – the refurbishing work seems to be finishing up so hopefully they’ll be full soon.
Web of Light, Reflected – Exchange Flags, Liverpool

Ai Weiwei sculpture for the Liverpool Biennial, Exchange Flags. Took me ages to get this shot, tripod at lowest, trying not to get me knees or arse wet…

Funland! – Southport

Hello there…you may have noticed that the FP blog & site have been down recently. We’ve had a problem with our hosting – it’s now been resolved but we’ve taken the opportunity to overhaul the blog completely.
Anyway, this is a picture of the Silcocks arcade on the front at Southport. I had to visit recently on business and took the opportunity to take some photos of the nearly deserted fairground and arcades.
