Penny Lane – home of the famous Beatles song (from The Magical Mystery Tour album). The council have had to start painting the street signs on walls, as too many tourists took a liking to the normal signs and took them away with them. The barbers and the bank are on Penny Lane but Paul McCartney used a bit of artistic licence with regards to the fire station – that’s about half a mile down the road.
